My ancestors are Scots ... and Welsh, Irish, German, Dutch, maybe some African American - some of my ancestors came on the May Flower, both grandfathers from the South - maybe a wee bit of Cherokee. Still, the water I drink and drank in Boise, from the aquifer, fell on the faces and bodies of the ancestors of the land in Boise, watered the trees, bushes, flowers, gave drink to the deer, chipmunk, quail and other creatures. I am connected to the land and to the ancestors. With that connection comes responsibility. I honor the native peoples of Boise and Idaho. I wish to do what I can to help my sisters and brothers who are native to this land, for we are all children of one God. We all come, finally, from one blood and are of one Earth.
