Dear Deb,
A friend sent me your blog. I was very impressed and proud of your efforts. I too am an artist. I am also the mother of a spousal rape/abuse victim. Your story is very encouraging. I want to encourage you to write it for the NDVH Survivors Blog.
You see I am a great believer in Ask and Tell. When I found out what was happening to my daughter I encouraged her to TELL and I TOLD everyone. We put the crime in the light. Criminals want to keep their crimes hidden and we also believed by telling it would help others to tell, and it has. It also made a truthful record for my daughters sons who one day can see with their own eyes the truth.
Below is a link to the 2 stories we submitted as well as my daughters story to the NDVH and also the contact person you could write to, if you so choose.
I think one of the worst things I see and hear from victims of DV is a lack of hope and future. Your story would do much to encourage and help heal many others.
